Using PS4 Remote to play L4D2 on PC?

So recently some friends of mine have convinced me to start playing games like unturned and Fortnite on pc. I come from consoles so getting used to the whole mouse and keys thing has been kind of wack. But, recently I discovered that I can connect my ps4 Dualshock remote to my mac via Bluetooth and its made playing games like Fortnite so much easier.(Yes, I game on a Mac, please ignore that, not the point.) However, in my console years, I found that Left 4 Dead was one of the most fun games I've played and was thinking of buying it off of steam and playing with friends. And from my understanding, it's compatible with an Xbox remote on PC. I was wondering if my PS4 remote would work with it or would I have to buy an Xbox remote. If I do need an Xbox remote, does it need to be 360 or One, or does it even matter?
