Baldurs Gate 2 Shadows of Amn Overview

Baldurs Gate 2 Shadows of Amn Free Download for PC is a computer role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Black Isle Studios. It is the sequel to Baldur's Gate (1998), and was released for Microsoft Windows in September 2000. Like Baldur's Gate, the game is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting and is based on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition rule set. The game uses BioWare's Infinity Engine, which was used in Baldur's Gate and other Black Isle games, including Planescape: Torment and the Icewind Dale series.

Baldur's Gate 2 opens shortly after the events of Baldur's Gate and continues the story of the protagonist, Gorion's Ward, whose unique heritage has now gained him or her the attention of Jon Irenicus. The game's plot revolves around the protagonist's encounters with Irenicus, and is set south of the events in Baldur's Gate in the country of Amn, mainly in and around the city of Athkatla.

Reddit, how many of you have played/beat Baldur's Gate II/Throne of Bhaal? And what were your class setups?

Throne Of Bhaal Patch

I, personally, think Baldur's Gate II is one of the best, if not the best, RPG ever made. Everything from the soundtrack to the story and the characters are simply brilliant. I've beaten the game at least 10 times and I've never gotten bored with it like I have with some other RPGs I play.

I've beaten it as a Kensai with a full party on normal difficulty, that was pretty easy and fun to do. After that I started ramping it up a bit.

Beat the game as an Elf Sorcerer solo (no party members) on normal difficulty. Playing solo was a nice challenge, in some ways it was easier because you get all the XP and level up way faster, but at the same time you don't have the diverse skill set you get with party members.

Next as a Halfling Berserker, this time solo and on Insane difficulty. This was pretty challenging, when you play solo spells like Maze kill you because you have no party members to rescue you. Fighting Irenicus is pretty annoying because he casts this spell a lot. After this playing Solo and Insane became my favorite thing to do, it's a interesting challenge when you have no party members and monsters do double damage and Lichs seem to spawn everywhere.

Half-Elf Blade was pretty interesting, it was a nice blend of Fighter and Mage in one class. The final fight solo and on insane difficulty was pretty hard, but I got it after a couple of tries.

Bhaal

This next one is probably my favorite class combination in the entire game. I started out as a Human Kensai, then at level 12 Dual Classes to Thief. (I have Throne of Bhaal so I can level up a lot higher then usual). Towards the end of the game I was level 12 Kensai, level 39 Thief. Also because of Throne of Bhaal I got the Special Abilities at high levels, including the 'Use Any Item' which meant that even though I was a Kensai, I could still wear armor. Anyway, why is this my favorite class? Because with Kensai Strike and Backstabb at the same time I could easily do 200-300 damage with a single blow.

Next I did Multi Class Elf as a Fighter/Mage. This was probably my most interesting game and probably my most powerful character. I'm not sure if this has happened to anybody else, but in the Underdark I accidentally got caught by the Drow Princess. But before she could talk to me and dispel my disguise, I ran out of the Beholder Caves. After that every time I went through an area a weird spell effect would explode around me like I had just had dispel cast on me. But that wasn't even the best part of this game, after I went into Throne of Bhaal I found that when I changed to the Slayer I could stay as the Slayer for as long as I wanted, and I could even use weapons instead of the Slayer claws. I'm still not sure if it was because I was wearing items that regenerated me, but if I changed to the Slayer and slept then I would stay at him. (It might be that the regeneration items canceled out the damage from staying as the Slayer when I rested.) So I basically went around the entire game as the Slayer, I would only change back when I went to different areas, other then that I would stay as the Slayer and I wouldn't take any damage at all.

After that I played as a Halfling Cleric. The Vampires were extreamly easy with this class. There's a Cleric spell, I can't remember the name, but I think it's call Sanctuary. It baisically makes you invisible, enemies can't attack you but you can't attack them. But you can Turn Undead with it on. So I just went through the entire Vampire Crypt with Sanctuary and Turn Undead on. I would just walk near the Vampires and watch them pop.

Druid was okay, not my favorite class, but it was different and challenging. Not much to say here.

I played Sorcerer again after that, this time I had Throne of Bhaal so I got to a higher level and actually got pretty far into Throne of Bhaal. I've actually never beaten Throne of Bhaal solo yet. As the Sorcerer I got to the Ravenger before getting stuck.

I'm currently playing Elf Multiclass Fighter/Mage again. This time I'm taking advantage of the bonus merchants you get with Throne of Bhaal. I bought robes that reduce the time to cast spells by 2-3 seconds, along with a amulet that reduces it even farther. Along with the high level ability that gets rid of the delay between spells it's almost like a cheat code. I can cast all of my spells in 2-3 seconds, I'm hoping I can beat Throne of Bhaal with this setup.

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway, enough gushing. How many times have you beaten the game and what were your class setups?
